Here we wish to show that many of the traditions and practices of Christianity have no basis in Scripture. That in fact they are things that the Messiah did not do and more than that, they are things The Messiah would never do.
Many “Christian” people delude themselves that they are followers of Messiah, it is sad that they seem to sincerely believe they are following Messiah, but in reality they are not. The aim of this page is not to judge what others do, but rather to shed light on the deceptions of The Adversary; Ha Satan.

Sunday is named for the sun god, it comes from the Latin ‘dies Solis’ “day of the sun” and has no part with the Sabbath of YHWH.

Exodus 20:8-11. “Remember the Sabbath to keep it Set Apart. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work. But the seventh is the Sabbath of YHWH: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor, thy son, nor thy daughter, thy servant, nor, thy cattle, nor the stranger that is within thy gates. For in six days YHWH made heaven and earth, the sea and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore YHWH blessed the seventh day and set it apart.”

We have had some tell us that a new day was set for worship, ‘The Lord’s Day” and that is Sunday, as they believe that the Messiah rose from the dead on Sunday morning. However this is not the case (We cover the resurrection under ‘Easter’). We have also been told that the Apostle John acknowledged ‘the Lords Day’ in Rev 1:10; “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet”
Please make no mistake about this; the Apostle John was emphatically not off in his astral body somewhere on a Sunday. The Apostle John was right there in his fleshly body on the Island of Patmos. The Apostle John was having a vision of the Great and Dreadful Day of YHWH as in Malachi 4:5.
A disciple or follower of anyone does as that person does. Messiah Yahushua observed the Sabbath (Shabbat). LUKE 4:16. “And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up: and,as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read.”
There can be no question of it, Yahushua observed the Sabbath. Nowhere in all of Scripture will you find any suggestion that the day was ever changed. Yahushua at no time told anyone they did not need to observe Sabbath. He did criticize the Pharisees for making the Sabbath a burden by their own traditions that they had put upon the people. Still at no point, nowhere at no time did Messiah cancel or replace the 7th day Sabbath or the Annual Sabbaths. The Sabbath Day is a blessing.
MARK 2:27. “And He said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.”
Clearly then our Saviour observed the Sabbath, that had been created by YHWH for mankind. The Sabbath was designed for man to delight in, this was why Yahushua criticized the Pharisees for adding their own traditions; they made it impossible for the people to call the Sabbath a delight.
Isaiah 58:13-14 “If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my Set Apart Day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the Set Apart of YHWH, honourable; and shalt honour Him, not doing thy own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in YHWH, and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of YHWH hath spoken it.”
From the scriptures we have just looked at, we can see that, firstly Yahweh made the Sabbath for man, it was a blessing that he created a rest day for man. Furthermore we can see that not only was the Sabbath a blessing in and of itself, but also a blessing was attached to the correct observance of Sabbath.
The Sabbath also is the Sign of Yahweh’s people, the children of Israel (all twelve tribes not just Judah.) which we must all become spiritually through Messiah Yahushua. Exodus31:16-17 “Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days YHWH made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He rested, and was refreshed.”
Simple fact is; without the Seventh day Sabbath Observance; we cannot claim to be disciples or followers of the Messiah, nor can we be the children of the Most High.

The Messiah did not observe Easter. It really is just that simple. Easter is not a replacement for Passover; Easter has nothing whatsoever to do with the Messiah. Some have said that Messiah did not observe Easter because he had not yet been crucified so He could not. This is absolute rot; Easter was in existence long before Messiah was even born. So Messiah could have observed Easter but He would not, for to do so would be to break Torah. Easter is an old festival held in honour of Ishtar (Nimrod’s mother) also known as Eostre, Ostara, Isis and numerous others around the world. Easter is a thoroughly pagan festival; well pre-dating the Messiah. Christianity adopted this spring festival in replacement of Yahweh’s Passover compromising with the pagans.

What an insult to our Saviour to connect His Death for us, with an egg laying rabbit. And to replace unleavened bread with hotcross buns. YAH’SHUA WAS YAHWEH’S PASSOVER LAMB NOT THE EASTER BUNNY!

The Resurrection: Yahushua did not rise on a Sunday. Messiah rose at the end of the weekly Sabbath. You cannot get 3 days and 3 nights from, a Friday crucifixion and a Sunday morning resurrection.
Matthew 12:39-40 “But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall be no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”
If you still believe the Sunday ressurection; please read our article Messiah was executed on the 4th day of the week. He rose at dusk at the end of the weekly Sabbath, that is at dusk on Saturday.
Easter Sungods Day has no part with The Messiah.
Matthew 7:22-23 “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
Please study things Prayerfully and carefully, for as Messiah has spoken, it is the “many” that will be in error and only the few who will not be.
By following Sunday and the pagan celebrations; Christianity lost the enlightenment that comes from keeping Yahweh’s set Apart Days. Only by understanding the significance of those Set Apart days can we really understand Yahweh’s plan of salvation. For Yahweh’s plan of Salvation is portrayed by the Set Apart Days. We read on a website recently that, “those who don’t keep Xmas, don’t get to party a lot.” Well, we beg to differ, Yahweh has plenty of celebrations and what’s more we have something real to celebrate.

Christmas is an old pagan festival called ‘Saturnalia’, they believed that the winter sun was dying; by December 25th the ancient solstice (sunstop), could be seen to be returning northward, they called it ‘re-born’. they exchanged dolls, hung wreaths; and celebrated for days. December 25th in ancient Rome was called “Dies Natalis Invicti,” the ‘birthday of the unconquered”, you may well ask unconquered what? The unconquered sun, is the answer. This was a riotous time for pagans with much excesses, cross dressing; fertility rites and and general mayhem.
The Romans had numerous deities one type of worship was called Zoroastriatism. This cult worshipped the rebirth of the sun, Mithraism. Mithras was said to have been born on December 25th as the ‘unconquerable sun’.Initiates had a sprinkling type baptism with bull’s blood. It was said that a bull, that Mithras had sacrificed represented darkness. (the Roman Catholic Church instigated a sprinkling with water type baptism, called a christening [may we suggest a chrestus-ening] in replacement of YHWH’s immersion)Sun worship was brought into true Messianic Worship by Rome, until there was very little of the original teachings left, by which to tie Christianity to the true Messianic worship of the First century Apostles. It remains that way to the present day.
So where did all this start? It started in Ancient Babylon. Nimrod the great grandson of Noah, Nimrod built the original Babylon, the tower of Babel; ancient Nineveh, he was the founder of the worlds first kingdom. Nimrod was so evil it is said he married his own mother, Semiramis. When Nimrod died his mother/wife spread the unfounded doctrine of Nimrod having become a spirit. She claimed a full grown evergreen tree sprang up over night from a dead tree stump, which was supposed to symbolize the springing forth of new life for the dead Nimrod. Here comes that tree again! On each anniversary of his birth, Semiramis claimed that
Nimrod would visit the evergreen tree and leave gifts upon it. December the 25th is the birthday of Nimrod! This is the origin of the Christmas tree. Semiramis became the Babylonian “queen of heaven” and Nimrod the ‘divine son of heaven’. Nimrod became the false Messiah, son of Baal the Sun God. The Babylonian ‘mother and child ‘ became the chief objects of worship. By various Names this ‘mother and child’ worship spread throughout the world.(more on that later.) Now what about good old Santa: The origin of Father Christmas depends where you hail from. It is said that the name of ‘Sant Claus’ is derived from “St Nicholas”, a Roman Catholic Bishop, honoured by the Greeks and Latins ( and Catholics everywhere) on the 6th of December. It is said that St Nicholas bestowed doweries on three daughters of a very poor citizen. This is what is supposed to have started the custom of giving presents in secret on the eve of St Nicholas, December 6th, that this was then transferred to Dec 25th. and this began the connection of Christmas with Santa Claus. We have already seen the
pagans had a tradition of swapping gifts on the 25th December. However this St Nicholas was said to live in the 4th century so if this secret giving to children was derived from St Nicholas, then it must have been added to the Pagan celebrations much later than the “25th December celebrations” were absorbed into Messianic Worship and called “Christianity”. We know the depiction here of
Santa Claus, was created by Coca Cola advertisements in 1931, previously Santa had been depicted as an elf. Being previously an elf, is why a fat fellow is depicted as being able to fit down a chimney. Now he was depicted as human with elves for helpers, but where did the idea that he flew through the sky come from?
Some believe that the story of St Nicoholas was a christian invention, that in fact the saint never existed at all, but was a story invented to sanitize the worship of the Roman goddess Befana. As to whether St Nicholas was a real person, we don’t know. However the Pope removed St Nicholas Day from the official church calendar in 1969, due to lack of accurate documentation on the life of St Nicholas. So maybe he was made up. The Roman goddess Befana, was said to ride her broomstick through the skies and around the world, delivering gifts to good children. In the christian middle ages she was superseded by St Nick. Twelfth Night (the Twelve Days of Xmas) was the night Befana was supposed to deliver her gifts (much is still made of twelfth night in Britain with much superstition surrounding it). After Befana was taken over as the gift bearer, she became the familiar witch on a broomstick that we see in the picture here.
below.
So now where could the idea of of reindeer have come from? Befana was also known as Berchta or Holla, as Frau Holle (in Germany) her Nordic name is Frigg or Freya. Wife of Wodan (Odin). Holla is the Mother of the gods. Odin was the original gift giving yule elf who rode on a white horse, giving to the good and punishing the poor. The Nordic god Thor is said to be the son of Freya and Odin, so it’s all very much a family matter.Thor is also thought to have been the Yule Elf. Thor Reportedly rode through the sky in his chariot pulled by 2 goats named Tannginost and Tanngisnir.
Many legends tell of Thor’s benevolence to humankind (at least while in a good mood) and his jolly sense of humour and good nature; this makes Thor a more likely for runner to Santa Claus, than his father Odin. However it would seem that the legends of Befana( Berchta; Holla; Frigg; Freya) and Odin (Wodan) and Thor have been rolled into one Big Fat Santa Claus. The Yule Log and the Holly are also tied up with these same 3 pagan deities, however we will not cover those things here at present; as our aim on this page is merely to show, why these celebrations do not have any place in the worship of Our Creator and Saviour. We believe that we have fairly well proved the point to any willing to see, that Christmas has nothing to do with the Messiah. You will not find Christmas commanded as a feast day anywhere in Scripture. It is not The Messiah’s birthday. Messiah was not born in December rather either late September or early October by the Roman calendar- about the time of ‘Sukkot’. You will however find in Scripture many places where Yahweh makes it clear that He will not accept pagan worship, He does not wish to to worshipped as the heathens worship.

At no time, no where, will you find the Messiah worshipping His mother, or suggesting that anyone one else did. The Messiah only told people to Worship the Father and to pray only unto the Father. Why did Christians start to worship mother Mary? Our Saviour’s mother was called the Hebrew name Miriam, not the anglo-latinized Mary. But let’s face it folks back in the 1960’s even the Beatles had us all singing the praises of Mother Mary as she came to them with words of wisdom “Let it Be”.The Beatles at the time were off on their big OE into India and pretty much off on drugs at the time; so it’s highly unlikely that any revelation they had came from Our Creator. More likely is, that it came from that “ Lucy (Lucifer or LuCybele) in the Sky” than from our Father in Heaven. So where did the church get the mother worship from?
Ancient Babylon had many monuments to Semiramis and Tammuz (mother and child), which was a large part of their worship
.Shown here on the right Semaris & Tammuz were the original divine mother and child. As the Baylonians were scattered around the earth they took the Mother and child worship around the earth. This worship of mother and child was to be found all around the globe many, many centuries before Our Saviour was born.
In Egypt the Mother and child were known as Isis and Horus; as shown in the picture on the left.By whatever name the mother was known she was the wife of Baal, by whatever name he was known. In India this mother was known as Indrani. In Rome, Venus or Fortuna and the child as Jupiter. The Germans called her Hertha, she was also worshipped with a babe in arms. Many more are the names of Mother and Child worship around the Globe. In Rome the Messianic worship was taken over by the pagan traditions that were merely given knew names and attributed to the Messiah and his mother.
. In reality there never was any Mother and Child worship in the Apostolic Messianic Worship of the 1st century believers. The picture on your right thought to represent the Messiah and His mother is nothing more than a carry on of old pagan tradition.
Miriam the mother of our Messiah Yahushua, was not a materially wealthy woman, so have you ever wondered why she was so often depicted as on the left here, crowned and besparkled. This is as the image of this Mary depicts the “Queen of Heaven” as complained about by Yahweh in Jeremiah 7:8 (quoted under “easter’ with hotcross buns)
The children of Israel knew this mother goddess as “Ashtaroth.” Judges 10:6 “And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of Yahweh, and served Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidion, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook Yahweh and served not Him.”
Has the Church of Rome done to Messianic worship, as the Ancient Israelites of Judges10 had done to the Torah of Moses. Indeed it has, for there is little of true Messianic Worship or lifestyle to be found in Christianity. The Messiah found fault with the Judaism of His time, and they rejected Him as Messiah. They are those that “never got it in the first place.” They could not see. Christianity is the church of “The great falling Away” they had it but turned back to Paganism. Does “Judge 10:6” apply to the Christian faith today. Unfortunately it does!
